Event report

Pix vol.3

On February 1st, at Harajuku EX'REALM, "PIX vol.3" was held. The event consisted of two parts, the first half was a VJ seminar and the latter half was VJing by several top VJs. Because of this unusual schedule of the event, there were quite a few audience from the very beginning.

The first, "Clink!Clank!" started its lecture "How to VJ?" aiming at
novice VJs. They explained the equipments used for VJing, variety of
visuals, basic ways of VJing and performing venues for VJs with their
VJing demonstration and their visuals.

The next VJ D-STYLE gave his lecture on "V-4", the cutting edge visual
mixer which had just gone on sale from EDIROL. He explained its basic
functions, the operations and some effective ways of using for VJing.

The latter half of the event, we had high level of VJing performances.

"UNU" was at the first. Their stylish visuals were fascinating.

The next was "ecran". Kaleidoscopic visuals and other exquisite
visuals as usual.

Then, for the first time in "PIX", appeared "SAMURAI" who has provided lots of his visuals
to "PIXDISC". His quality of visuals, switching timing of visuals to
synchronize with music and his visuals selection were just superb.

The last VJ was "TomoGrapher". They anchored the event with their
skillful manipulation of division effects and rapid VJing.

The VJ seminar to begin with, the most audience of the event this time also were gazing in the screens rather than dancing. For the event featuring VJs, this tendency was not in the wrong direction. However, VJs would probably show themselves at their best when people are dancing with their visuals running and the scene which spread the identification of all music, visuals and people.
The next event would hopefully be a dancing event where the value of VJing can be exhibited. (again hopefully,,,)
