Event report

Pix vol.1

On September 26th, Thu., at SUS(Secober) in Shibuya, a VJ party "PIX" was held to commemorate release of "PIXDISC". There were five VJ teams performing their visuals at the party. They were the VJ teams who had their visuals recorded in "PIXDISC vol.1" and others whose visuals would be recoreded in upcoming "PIXDISC vol.2". The performance of Japan's top VJs were highly anticipated.

The venue, "SUS(Secobar)" is a bar with swagger interior and sophisticated atmospher. It was quite a scene with several screens hung up in a row along the window to which cast visuals from the projectors and quite a few sets of VJ machines lined up. It was just past eight, the event started. First came "clink!clank!". A three-member VJ team mixing each of the member's visuals with different tastes tried to synchronize with the music played by DJ Ogata. They enjoyed VJing which was as impressive as their distinguished visuals.

The next VJ "ecran" tookover. It was breathtaking to see their beautiful visuals performance's synchronicity with the trancelike music played by DJ Share the Fantasy as if it were prearranged.

Here appeared "TomoGrapher". An originally five-member team, three of them performed this time. Regardless the number of the members, surely their high quality visuals, flavored with light humor, coming and going on the screen was just preeminent.

The visuals of above three teams are expected either on "PIXDISC vol.2" or latter volumes. Can't wait for that!!

Yoshiaki Nakaichi whose visuals are on "PIXDISC vol.1" started his performance after "TomoGrapher". The quality of his visuals has already been proved in "PIXDISC", and at this event his technique of switching(visuals) as a VJ was greatly impressive. By his excellent
switching, the visual pop onto the screen at just the right timing to synchronize with the music.

The last came Taro Hino(salcon graphics) whose visulas are also on " PIXDISC vol.1". With his affection for computer games, the game- screen-like visuals and animation characters were coming onto the screen, on the other hand casting unique colored and cool visuals which made nobody bored.

The three hour event ended after gazing in the mixed visuals. As the event featured VJ, quite a lot turnout fixed their eyes on visuals rather than danced around. Every VJ team had shown their distinguished visuals to prove its high quality and level of technology.
The next event is expected to be held on November 2nd. It's planned to be a monthly event after all. Why don't you come and see what's going on in VJ world if interested.
