We are called SanFranDisco….

Founded in June 2000 in London.
SanFranDisco is a VJ unit: 2 Japanese visual artists, who create and mix imaginative moving images and CG animations at a wide range of music parties in London (Brazilian, Electronica, Drum'n'Bass and Hip Hop ...). Their visual masterpiece mixes are guaranteed to make all party guests "Happy and Crazy" as all of their work is completely synchronized to the music.

Not only VJing, but also SANFRANDISCO takes a part of various fields; organizing exhibitions and club events, writing on VJs and graphic designing.

In London era, SANFRANDISCO was VJing at Fabric, Turnmills, 333, Herbal, ICA and so on. Through a year, they were also invited to do VJing in Manchester, Bristol and Newcastle.
In 2003, commissioned an audiovisual mix along with music by SLAM for Addictive TV presents MIXMASTERS on ITV (UK). In 2004, SANFRANDISCO moved to Japan.

In Japan era, SANFRANDISCO is VJing, London Tokyo @ AGEHA (April 2004), Metamorphose 2005, FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, motion graphic work for FORMA (NTT 2004) and FIT the
movie (HONDA 2004), explanatory movie for DOLBY and DVD work for PIXmix in 2006.

HUMA is the mysterious special unit that makes two talented Japanese musicians' identities unrevealed. The member of HUMA is that one is high-profiled mighty producer who is releasing singles and albums from European label and the other one is the proficient arranger/engineer who creates No.1 hits at ORICON ranking.

Concept

Capturing motion graphics as light, and Day-NA performs space design of light that resonate with laser lights and lightings.

He creates visual materials with the concept that motion graphics are interesting even if they are projected to plant, waterfall, decorations and buildings.

Profile

In Day-NA's early years, he was attracted to reflections of light on and from metal and water, and he has been interested in motion graphics since then.
In 2003, he started VJing.

From Y2000 clink!clank! started creating motion graphic works.
Currently, the members are JUNKO KASAHARA, NAOKO UEDA and RYUTA HASHIMOTO.
Mainly with motion graphics, VJing and graphic design, clink!clank! has been developing their visual work at music events and music live stages.
They do writing books and lecturers at college, and also they have various projects from many directions and collaborate with people who are in different fields.

In Y2001, Y.a.M.A became a member of upsets and started experiencing live performances, and lined out album and an ep relaeses, 1st ALBUM "SOUND OF SLEEP", 2nd ALBUM "Cruisin' with UPSETS", 2nd EP 'upsets meets abu ep'. (With abu, Y.a.M.A did remixing as a unit named NUMB[Revirth] + HANUMAND[Revith])

His solo work was included in 2nd ALBUM "NUTOPIA PRODUCTION"(DOUBLE BASS RECORDS) and collaborated with SAIDRUM(REVIRTH) and made a work called 'RISE & FALL', which became a hit and was sold out within a month after its release date.

In V.A P!NK B!K!N!, not only solo pieces but also remix of 38recordings feat. KEMUI's work and the theme tune of "pistol / woman who can't swim" (a new omnibus film by Aya Horii, who is prizewinning director at YUBARI INTERNATIONAL FANTASTIC FILM FESTIVAL). For CG motion graphic download service system "PIX LIBRARY 08", which motion graphics were created by clinkclank!, he created music and has been maintained energetic other activities.
He is one of the artists who have a high public profile.

Profile

PORTASOUNDS is the project held by Ude Obayashi. Creating motion graphics for SPACE SHOWER TV's broadcasting programme and the Flash contents for PC and mobile phones. Alongside of those motion graphic jobs, he started Vjing from Y2000. Now he also creates motion graphics for PlayStation2 games, applications for PCs and online games at a game production company.

Profile

LBT is the music label that was founded by three track makers, DJ io, paricco and Petank. The label started in order to release funky music source, to enjoy drink and hot springs in Japan, and they've been basically producing and releasing music on analogue vinyl records, creating remixes and gigs. As well as their individual talented Dj gigs and lives, the label's monthly party is also held.

Interpretation of sounds into lights, which space oriented resonant lights.

Profile

Started maintaining energetic activities of VJ unit called ecran in the middle of 90S.
It had been giving an exciting essence for floors of parties at nightclubs and shows in various genres.
In 2003, ecran was made an end, and the artist started the new unit called visual-dreamscape-project and extensively in operation.
Its edgy luster and the effective expression of shade and shadow are appropriate to be described as "dreamscape". Especially, the visual is characterized by its real-time synchronicity performance alongside of music, and it stages "indistinct combination space" and attracts DJs.
It seeks possibilities of motion graphics expressions and releases many materials.
It has been stimulating audiences' irises.

Profile

In 1994, his debut was a progressive rock band "WXXI"(Kitty Records) in the both countries, USA and Japan, and its home base was in New York. After the U.S. tour, his base was moved to Los Angeles, and formed an industrial unit called "VERTEX" with members likes of Steven Parcy (vo. Of RATT) and Al Pretori (Guiter of MEGADEATH) and contracted with TEICHIKU ENTERTAINMENT (Japan).
Between Japan and U.S.A., the unit released different versions of albums and went to four-months tour in USA and Japan.

The first single got a No.1 ranking of FM single chart in Chicago and Detroit. The album became twelve thousand disc sales in U.S.. Around at that time, HIRO KURETANI met Cli-N-Tel who is a main MC of former W.C.W.C. and KURETANI hold the post of A&R for Creopatra Records and Hipnotic Records, which is one of the big steel in indie music industry in U.S.

After his returning home to Japan, he established diesel workshop inc.. In 1999, he founded another club music label called "Transmission", collaborating with WEED which does managements of the artists, the likes of Hirose Kohmi, MINMI and so on. It produced a hit compilation album, such as the series of "Trance Anthems", and Kuretani leads the label by acting himself as one of the artists.
In a positive manner, he takes parts of oversea projects, and under the name of Trancentral Station, which is a unit with DJ19, it has released 5 singles and one album so far in UK/US and Europe. In August 2005, he released the newest single called "Looser Takes All" in his own name and it is sold in Europe, United States and Asian countries.

Profile

TomoGrapher founded in 1999 is motion graphic unit with five creators.
They perform VJing with the belief of that presenting visualks in a way that's not boring for the audience, and are seaking for the way of new expressions of VJing. Performed a part of varisous VJ events, such as at Korea Electronics Association, (KEA), on their own motion graphic lives, and other gigs in many fields.
Since 2003, TomoGrapher has been taking a part of UK's Audio Visual TV programme "Mixmasters" for three years. With music by Share the Fantasy, Susumu Yokota and Hiroshi Watanabe, each lasts 10 minutes, three pieces of audio visual work were created, "Dannoura", "Zengo" and "Third ear".
In 2005, the series of audio visual work won approval and it led Tomographer to be invited artist of "OPTRONICA" festival (UK). At the festival, their work took a part of screening in NFT London, and VJ gig at THE SPITZ collaborating with sibegg.

Our team was formed from “ANTENNA” in MISSION Azabu in December, 1998. We are always with “ How we can communicate with people through our visuals” in mind to create our graphics.
As for a VJ activity, we try to be aware of the importance of the connection between “music and people”, the communication between the crowd and music. As for the daily works, we try to understand our core concept that we want to convey, and work with conscious about the communication between the things extended from our concept and ourselves. Love people.

To pursuit the possibility of motion graphics expressions.

Profile

A freelance CG designer and I am now creating computer games for United Game Artist Ltd. Co., with the experience of working for a CG creating company for several years.
I started VJ playing in April, 2000. I play VJ mainly with Techno, Trans, and House music.
I try my best to select the most suitable motions graphics expression possible for the atmosphere of each occasion, as well as I use the occasion as an experiment for my own designs different from that of my work place.
I like CG designing and playing computer games.

Profile

The team consists of SOBUE and NISATO formed in a certain place September, 1999. We have participated in various club events as a VJ. Not only the VJ activity at clubs, we have actively performed as a visuals director at many music concert tours. Furthermore, we have been dealing with creation of TV commercials, program opening, promotion videos and others.
A fusion of art and design. The visual is not only “the art” nor “the design”.
In our visuals, elements of 3DCG, typography, noise and photograph are intertwined to make one creation.
We are now creating a track of techno, electro and other genres.
A new DVD is expected on sale at the end of 2002.
